Wilson Patrick Yawn

Wilson Patrick Yawn, 87, died August 12, 2017 with family by his side. Wilson was born in Climax, GA, August 2, 1930 to Edd Patrick Yawn and Quillar Mae Jobe Yawn. He grew up in Gadsden County and graduated from Gadsden County High School in 1949.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years Patsy Margaret Causseaux, March 16, sons Lee Patrick Yawn and Brent Wilson Yawn sister, brother- in- law Anita Yawn Johnson and Carry Johnson, sister- in-law Charlene Sharkey Causseaux, many beloved nieces and nephews, his best friends Bill and Annie B Elkins, beloved pets, cat Buster and dog, Cheyenne.
Predeceasing him are his sisters, Louise Yawn, Myrtle Dawkins, Ruby Todaro, one brother Willard Yawn, nephew Larry Causseaux, great niece Rachel Toal and great nephew B.J. Toal , brother-in-law Orlis Lee Causseaux and father and mother-in-law, Lee and Alma Gerrell Causseaux, and his cat, Charlie, aged 22 years.
He was employed by the Florida State Road Department in 1952 and retired from the Department of Transportation in 1995 as 3rd District Maintenance Engineer for six counties. He was the first graduate of Tallahassee Community College with a Civil Engineering Technology Degree in 1972. In 1986 Governor Bob Graham awarded him a Valued and Distinguished Service Award from the State of Florida. Wilson served as Cub Master for Pack 112 at East Hill Baptist Church from 1977 through 1981 building the pack into the largest in Leon County. He was a member of Thomasville Road Baptist Church, the Caring Hearts Sunday School Class and T.R.B.C. Grounds Maintenance Committee.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at Faith Funeral Home Chapel with J.R. Hite of T.R.B.C. officiating the service. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 am. Acting pallbearers will be his nephews, Ronnie Dawkins, Pat Dawkins, Billy Johnson, Greg Johnson, Ken Johnson, Duke Todaro and Mike Yawn.
