Wilma Nadine Viorel, named “Gigi” by her grandchildren, passed away on Wednesday, September 15th, 2021 where she lived in the memory care unit at Tapestry Lakeshore in Tallahassee, Florida. Her daughters, son in law, and grandchildren were lovingly by her side in the days before. She joins her husband, Al Viorel, her “Husby” in Heaven who passed three weeks prior. Gigi is survived by her daughters Barbara Astler and Brenda Jahn, her son in law, Reggie Jahn and her four beloved grandchildren- Connor, Haley, Allie, and Noah Jahn. She is also survived by her brother, Clarence Wilbur, “Bubba” Glass, her nieces, Kim Glass and Kelly (Glass) Leighton, and her nephew, Matthew Glass.
For all who knew Gigi, we lovingly remember her beautiful big smile, her love of the Lord, her open and kind heart, and her willingness to listen and offer counsel to whomever needed her at the moment. Gigi lived with a zest for life- everyday a new adventure. Her spirit of positivity was contagious. She loved to laugh and took pleasure in the little things, but mostly being there for those she loved. There will be an intimate Christian service with her immediate family at the Tallahassee National Cemetery on Friday, October 15, 2021, at 11:00am. There, she will be laid to rest with her husband Al (Papa). Godspeed Gigi, our beloved mother and grandma. Fly with the Angels.
Please share a memory and or photo on Gigi’s tribute wall.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Big Bend Hospice as well as the caregivers at Tapestry Lakeshore. In lieu of flowers, Gigi would prefer a donation to Big Bend Hospice through this link: https://bigbendhospice.charityproud.org/Donate.
