William Bryant Jennings

William Bryant Jennings, 93, of Havana, FL husband of Marian Schmidt-Jennings passed away on Monday, March 17, 2025, after a long illness. Bill was the pastor and choir director of Immanuel Baptist Church in Fort Lauderdale, FL for sixteen years. Born September 12, 1931, in Durham, NC, he graduated from Rock Hill High School, Mars Hill, Wayne State, and Wake Forest. He also attended Southern Baptist Seminary in Louisville, KY, and Julliard School of Music in New York City to enrich his ministry credentials. He spent most of his working years in the ministry.

He is survived by his wife Marian, daughter Renae Doyle, grandchildren Ryan and Daniel, and many nieces & nephews. Bill was the youngest of seven children in the Jennings family.

William B. Jennings loved his friends, the Church, and the Lord Jesus Christ. He had many talents: preaching, singing, playing instruments, performing magic, and telling stories. He rode motorcycles, fished, golfed, camped, and shared with the needy. His laugh was unique and contagious. His smile would light up a room with positive energy. He was well known for his beautiful smile, laughter, and a great big appetite.

He is preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Selma Jennings, and his two brothers and four sisters, Louis, Matrel, Mary, Lois, Arthur, and Evelyn.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM (EST) on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Faith Funeral Home Chapel (6972 Florida/Georgia Hwy. Havana, FL. 32333) His family will receive friends immediately after the service. The graveside funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM (CST) at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Slocomb, AL. (183 Pleasant Hill Rd, Slocomb, AL 36375)
