Walton "Kip" Jones (Leon High 1970), loved and highly respected by all who knew him, passed away peacefully surrounded by love on December 17, 2013.
Kip was born in Tallahassee to the late Walton and Kathryn Jones. He married his high school sweetheart, Judy Salter Jones (Leon High 1971), in June 1973, and they lived with vitality and love.
Kip joined the Marine Reserves and proudly served from 1971-1977. He later attended TCC, then FSU before accepting a job with the Florida Department of Transportation in 1984. Kip and Judy's two sons, Casey and Kelly, were the light and focus of their lives. As a family, they loved walleyball, volleyball, bowling, biking, spending time at St. George, and watching the Seminoles.
Also feeling the loss of this amazing man are his siblings and their spouses, Judy Carroll (Jerry), Jan Harbeson (Cobb), and Keith Jones (Dale); his daughter-in-laws, Melanie and Helden; his grandson, Parker; his sweet puppy Shadow; and countless friends and coworkers.
The Memorial service will be held at Episcopal Church of the Advent, 815 Piedmont Drive, on Friday, December 20 at 3pm.
