Sylvia Karean (Dees) McKenzie

Sylvia Karean (Dees) McKenzie 71, of Attapulgus , GA. passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2022 at her residence.

The graveside funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, September 9, 2022 at Day Cemetery in Day, Florida, with Brother John Levi Vann officiating the service.

Karean was born on October 3, 1950 in Madison, FL. The daughter of the late Thetis F. Dees and Gladys Bell Dees. She was a life long member of Brewer Baptist Church of Day Florida. She was a Master Hair Stylist. She was an artist at hair styling. Karean loved what she did, and all her clients were her friends “Not just her customers” She styled and cut hair in Quincy, Florida for twenty eight years, then in Tallahassee, Florida for several more years.

She is survived by her Husband, Harmon McKenzie, Jr. of Attapulgus , GA; Four brothers Tommy Dees (and wife Faye) of Mayo, FL ; Eugene Dees Lake City, FL; Foye Dees (and wife Mattie) of  Dowling Park, FL; Richard Dees (and wife Cindy) of Mayo, FL . One sister Irene Dees Calhoun (and husband Mike) of Mayo. Many beloved nieces and Nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorial donations be made to Big Bend Hospice 1723 Mahan Center Blvd, Tallahassee, FL 32308.
