Ruth Charlotte (VanLandingham) Schaap

Ruth Charlotte VanLandingham Schaap, 88, of Havana, FL. passed away Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.
The memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Salem United Methodist Church, with a private family interment at Greenwood Cemetery in Cairo, GA.
The family will receive friends at Salem United Methodist Church fellowship hall one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 am. The family will also receive friends at Mrs. Charlotte’s home on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm. Faith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to Salem United Methodist Church or Children's Home Society of Florida.
Mrs. Charlotte was born on April 9,1928 in Cairo, GA the daughter of the late John VanLandingham and the late Ruth (Lane) VanLandingham. She attended Cairo High School. She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, and she was very active in many church functions. She was employed in the banking industry for nearly 40 years. She enjoyed and loved her bank family. She loved to cook and share her special recipes with her friends and family. She also loved to fish and vacation with her out of town family.
She is survived by her granddaughter Ashlee Broome Weber (husband Clint) of Tallahassee; her great-grandchildren Joel Alexander Weber and Juliette Ann Weber of Tallahassee; Her daughter-in-law Charlotte Pickels of Quincy; Two sisters Christine E. Voyles and Jean Scott of Cairo; her sister-in-law Barbara VanLandingham of Cairo; and many nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by her step-children Steve Schaap (Leslie) of Ocala; and Jim Schaap (Carol) of Spring Lake, MI; six grandchildren and eleven great grand children.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands Eugene Branson Broome and Richard (Dick) Schaap; her son Joel Broome and her brother John Walter VanLandingham and her step daughter Jennifer Correll.
The family would like to sincerely "thank" the staff of TMH (especially the 7th floor staff and the ER) as well as Dr. Michael Forsthoefel and Dr. Frank Gredler, her physicians for more than 20 years.
