Biography
Roy Dennis Johnson (84) went to be with the Lord on September 8, 2015. He was born on December 25, 1930 in Moultrie, Georgia where he lived until he joined the Navy and served in the Korean War. Upon returning, he attended and graduated from Georgia Tech where he earned his degree in engineering. He married Wahna Faye Harris on June 21, 1957 and moved to Tallahassee where he raised his family and worked as a mason and contractor until his retirement. Roy's favorite hobbies included farming, fishing, FSU football, and spending time with his family.
He was the last surviving descendant of 7 children born to Gussie and Lawrence Johnson of Moultrie, Georgia.
He was loved and adored by his widow of 58 years Wahna Faye Johnson; five children, Anna Johnson; Roy D. Johnson, Jr and his wife Tamara Johnson; Linda Harvey and her husband Buddy Harvey; Susan Malagarie and her husband John Malagarie; Kelly Volz and her husband Rick Volz; 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
The funeral services for Roy D. Johnson will be held at Seminole Baptist Church, 3330 North Mission Road, Friday the 11th of September at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Seminole Baptist Church in his honor.
