Mrs. Mildred P. Bailey of Tallahassee, Fl. (formerly of Leeds, Al.) passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2012. She was 92 years old. Family will receive friends at Kilgore Funeral Home in Leeds, Al. from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11, 2012. Graveside services will be held at Bold Springs Presbyterian Church Cemetery at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2012.
Mrs. Bailey was born on May 13, 1919, in Erie, Pa. to late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas B. Pattinson. She served her country in the Women's Army Air Corps during World War II. During that time she met and married her husband Roy B. Bailey of Leeds, Al. After the war, she was a homemaker and later a seamstress for Vanity Fair for many years. After retirement, she became a talented self-taught oil painter.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Winnie Dain of Meadville, Pa. and her oldest son Roy B. Bailey, Jr. of Casa Grande, Az. Her survivors are her husband of 67 years Roy B. Bailey of Tallahassee, Fl., and two sons, Tom Bailey (Sue) of Enterprise, Al. and Robert Bailey (Kathy) of Havana, Fl. Mrs. Bailey has six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren
