Merita Eakin Barber

Merita Eakin Barber, 79 of Climax, GA, passed away on Friday, August 9, 2019 at Bainbridge Memorial Manner.

The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 11, 2019 at Faith Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Grubbs officiating the service. The family will receive friends after the service in the chapel. A private family interment will be held at Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Merita Eakin Barber was born July 17, 1940 in Decatur County, GA the daughter of the late John L. Eakin and the late Agnes (Miller) Eakin. She was married to the late Nelson Barber for 59 years. She was a homemaker, and a member of Climax Baptist Church.

She is survived by her children Tony Barber, John Barber (wife Elise) Kaye Barber Clark (husband Jason) Joyce Day (husband Terry) Becky Bullock Ten grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Her brother Lloyd Eakin and sister Angeline Vulgamore.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Nelson Barber and her daughter-n-law Kaye Rich Barber
