Mary E. Willams

Mary E. Williams 72, of Havana, Florida passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2025 surrounded by her family, at First Commerce Center for Compassionate Care (Big Bend Hospice at TMH).

The funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at Faith Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow the service at Concord Cemetery, with Pastor Ryan Zearing officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 1:00 PM. Active Pallbearers include Justin Maro, Brandon Medina, Casey Dollar, Jason Chester, Layne Garrett, and James Chester.

Mary was born on July 22, 1952, in Havana, Florida. She was the daughter of the late Archibald Chester and the late Sadie Richards Chester. Mary was a compassionate caregiver for most of her adult life. She had a special bond with her daughter Lisa, they both cherished each other (and always will). She loved her family, she enjoyed spending time with her brothers and sisters, and her nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her daughter Lisa Swearengin (husband Chuck) of Tallahassee; her siblings Lester Chester (wife Gloria); Dorothy Johnson (husband Cliff); Leonard Chester (wife Jana); Evelyn Scelsi; Edward Chester (wife Monna); Kenny Chester; Charles Chester; Dennis Chester (wife Vicki) and Bonnie Chester. She had many nieces and nephews. The ones that called her “Nanny” were Amanda Dollar (husband Casey) Brandon Medina (wife Cierra), Justin Maro, and Corrine Maro.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, and her brothers Jimmy Chester and Douglas Chester.

Lisa and Chuck, along with other family members, will host a reception at Havana Golf and Country Club (at The Club House - 102 Country Club Drive, Havana, FL 32333)  immediately after the interment at the cemetery. Everyone is welcome to attend.
