Marvin Earl Parks, 82, of Havana, FL, died Sunday, January 11, 2015, at his home. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dorothy Phillips Parks.
The service will be held at 11 a.m. (EST) on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at Victory Assembly of God in Concord, where he was a member.
A graveside service with Military Honors will follow at Woodland Cemetery, Havana. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Faith Funeral Home (850-539-4300 or www.faithfuneralhome.com)
Mr. Parks was born in Decatur County, GA, on Dec. 8, 1932. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Delphia Cumbie Parks, and 10 brothers and sisters. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years and was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars. Mr. Parks was a devoted Christian and a life-long Assembly of God church member, always active in his local church. He was a resident of Havana for almost 45 years, working for the State of Florida for 17 years and Publix for 10 years. He was also an avid fan of Florida State University sports.
Mr. Parks is also survived by three sons, Steve Parks of Havana; Phil Parks (wife, Debbi) of Havana; and Paul Parks (wife, Jennifer) of Lawrenceville, GA; 6 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
