Martha "Eva" Reeves, born on May 19, 1943, in Medart, Florida, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2024, in Tallahassee, Florida. She leaves behind a legacy of dedication and creativity, intertwined with the warmth of her numerous talents and passions.
Eva had a distinguished career as a secretary, earning recognition for her outstanding contributions at Centel Telephone Company in Tallahassee, where she was honored as Secretary of the Year. This remarkable achievement afforded her the opportunity to enjoy memorable trips to both New York City and Washington, D.C., reflecting her commitment to excellence in her professional life.
Eva's intellect and quick wit set her apart, and she was deeply dedicated to her work and those she served. Beyond her professional pursuits, Martha was an accomplished artist in her own right, particularly skilled in quilting, sewing, and crocheting. Her hands brought to life a variety of intricate creations that she eagerly shared with family and friends. Additionally, she found joy in the harmonious notes of singing with her church choir, further showcasing her love for the arts and community.
Eva is survived by her sister, Kay Harvey, (and her husband Junior), of Tallahassee; her nephew, Michael Harvey (and his wife, Lisa) of Havana; two beloved nephews, Levi and Jackson Harvey, also of Havana; her sister-in-law, Linda Pigott of Havana; two nieces, Wendy and Kerri Pigott both of Tallahassee; and Kasi Fitzpatrick of Tallahassee. She was predeceased by her husband of 22 years, Wilson Reeves; her parents; her brother, Roderick "Rod" Willie Pigott; her sister, Elise Fitzpatrick; and her nephews, Richard Harvey and Jacob Harvey.
The family visitation will be held on November 5, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Faith Funeral Home and Crematory located at 6972 Florida/Georgia Hwy, Havana, Florida. A graveside service will take place at Pigott Family Cemetery in Medart, Florida, on November 6, 2024, starting at 11:00 AM.
