Biography

Marshall "Jack" Bass, 71, of Havana passed away Sunday evening, December 23, 2012, at his home.

The funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 28, 2012 at Faith Funeral Home Chapel with interment following at Woodland Cemetery. The eulogy will be given by Maggie McKinney of Youngstown, FL. Faith Funeral Home is handling arrangements (850.539.4300 or www.faithfuneralhome.com ).

Born in 1941 in Miami, he was raised in West Palm Beach. Jack served as a seaman in the United States Coast Guard and then located to Havana in the late 1960's. Jack worked in construction for more than 30 years. He was very proficient in hanging drywall. He enjoyed engaging conversation, fishing and golf. Football was his passion.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Dorothy Griffin; sister, Barbara Collier (Bill); two children, Jill and Jack Bass; step-daughter, Kim Griffin; step-granddaughter, Tori Griffin; step-daughter-in-law, Anna Griffin; Nephew, Bill Williams ; nieces, Debbie Crough (Jeff) and Karen Jackson (Dave); sister-in-law, Gail Jaworski (Stan); and many family members who loved him greatly and loyal friends, Roger and Ethal Ball; Herschell and Annell Blanchett and Jimmy and Rhonda Lambert, whose love and kindness brought Jack many smiles.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sybil and Al Vallery; sister, Linda Vallery and step-son, Scott Griffin.
