Margaret (Molly) Dugger Purvis, 104, of Havana Fl, And formerly of Lakeland Fl, passed peacefully on October 2,2020. She was born August 9, 1916 in Reynolds GA to Roderic and Margaret Morgan Dugger. She was the mother of Anne P. Storms Hnatuck (Walt) of Camp Hill PA, and Earlene P. Boyington (Larry) of Havana FL in addition to her daughters she is survived by nine grandchildren, Michael (Jennie) Storms, Eric (Kathleen) Storms, Kimberley Storms (Bill) Patrick, Dana (Ann) Storms, Sean Storms, Holly Boyington (Frank) Wolf, Gregory (Julie) Boyington, Jeffrey (Tiffany) Boyington, Jill Boyington (David) Dykstra-Nykanen, 25 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren, her 100-year old- brother Roderick Dugger, Jr., numerous nieces, nephews and their children. She was predeceased by her husband Earl Wilson Purvis, a young son Lee Sanders Purvis, granddaughter Annette Storms Bushey, and grandson Glen Boyington.

Molly was a lady of grace, talent, and warmth. Her genuine love of people, her well-traveled experiences, and her sweet nature made her a special mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be missed by all who knew, loved and admired her.

Molly was a member of various civic organizations such as Lakeland Welcome wagon, Lakeland and Havana Garden Clubs, and her Lakeland church’s women’s groups. She loved gardening both indoors and outdoors. She was often teased that she could stick her thumb in a pot, and it would take root and grow. She was a lifelong Bridge player and continued playing even after she turner 100.  She was an accomplished seamstress, making beautiful cloths for herself, her young daughters and granddaughters. She also did needlework for herself, others, and charitable bazaars. When she ceased sewing clothing she took up quilting at 90 years old and made seven quilts before finally putting the sewing machine away of good. She was a voracious reader and complained a couple years ago she thought that either her vision was beginning to fail or words in the books were getting smaller.

When Molly turned 100 she made the decision to go live in Assisted Living. Prior to that she lived with her daughter Earlene for 13 years. The family thanks the staff and administration at Magnolia House Assisted Living. She was comfortable, content, and cared for with respect and affection.

Molly will be interred next to her husband Earl and son Lee, at Wildwood Cemetery in Bartow FL on October 19th. There will be a Celebration of Life at Salem United Methodist Church in Havana FL on October 21st at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Molly’s memory to Salem United Methodist Church in Havana.
