LaRue McCaskill Brown

LaRue McCaskill Brown, 80 of Havana, FL passed away Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Capital Regional Medical Center on Tallahassee, Fl.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Oakview Cemetery in Camilla, GA. Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, those attending are asked to maintain the recommended safe social distancing of six feet and wear protective masks.

LaRue McCaskill Brown was born on October 14, 1940 in Camilla, GA the daughter of the late William McCaskill, and the late Lily Ruth McCaskill. LaRue was a retired librarian at Tallahassee Community College. She lived in Havana for the past 47 years. She was very active in her church (Riverside Baptist Church). She was a carter member of the church where she held many positions at the church over the years including music director. She was also involved with the ladies prison ministries in Quincy for many years.

She is survived by her children Michael Brown (wife BJ) of Tallahassee; Bill Brown (wife Marie)of Havana and Beth Whittington (husband Andrew) of Havana. Her brother Kenneth McCaskill of Palm Harbor, FL. Seven grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.

The family is planning a memorial service at Riverside Baptist Church for a later date.
