Kenneth (Ken) Morris Purvis,, born November 19, 1948 in Hillsborough County FL. Died on July 4, 2016 from a tragic accident. At the time of his death he was doing what he so much enjoyed, riding his Harley to Shell Point, as he had done many times before. Ken graduated from Pinecrest High School in 1966. He then enlisted in the Army in 1967 because of a dear high school classmate that was killed in Vietnam. Ken did not go to Vietnam, but was sent to South Korea and received an honorable discharge in 1973. He received his B.S degree from F.S.U in Hotel and Restaurant Management, where he remained a loyal Seminole fan. Ken began his career with U.P.S in 1983, where he quickly became more than a delivery driver but rather a welcome face to an entire community. He only recently retired after 33 years, most of which were serving Bristol and Liberty county. He developed a love of travel. He especially enjoyed taking family members to places they may never have had the opportunity to go. Above all else, he was most devoted to his family, where he found all his joy and love for life. He was a devoted Father, Grandfather, Brother and Uncle. He brought joy and laughter to all of the family gatherings of which were many. Ken is the son of Kenneth and Bertha Purvis, now deceased. He is survived by his sister, Brenda Guthrie of Lithia, FL. Daughters, Karen Lynnette O’Neal of Lithia, FL and Jillian Michelle Purvis of Quincy, FL. Sons, Kyle Armstrong Purvis and John Clark Purvis both of Quincy, FL. Grandchildren Ryan, Seth, Kyla and Ally O’Neal and a beloved nephew Jason Guthrie and Niece Angel Guthrie. His memorial service will be held at 6:30pm Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Faith Funeral Home in Havana (850-539-4300 or www.faithfuneralhome.com)
