Johnie Kirkland

Johnie Kirkland 70, of Cairo, GA, passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his family.

A Celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday August 7, 2021 at Providence Baptist Church Fellowship Hall 975 Providence Rd. Whigham, GA 39897. ( Please bring stories and memories to celebrate the life of our friend Johnie ) Finger foods and fellowship immediately following the Celebration. Please bring your favorite finger food to share, casual attire is requested.

Johnie was born September 13, 1950 in Valdosta, GA to the late George W. Kirkland and the late Virgina (Howell) Kirkland. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. Johnie was a Heavy equipment operator and low-boy truck driver. Johnie was a workaholic! He was a mentor to many people. He loved to garden and grow vegetables just share them with his friends and neighbors. When he did take time off, he loved to fish and Team Rope. He enjoyed anything to do with horses and cattle.

He is survived by his wife of 39 year Arlene Kirkland of Cairo, GA. His son Travis Kirkland of Tallahassee, FL his brother Ricky Kirkland of Tallahassee, FL. and one sister Barbara Harris (Gary) of Cleveland TN. Several nieces and nephews
