John Donald Staron 81 of Havana, FL. passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Salem United Methodist Church with Pastor Curtiss Cain officiating the service. The inurnment will be held the next morning at 10:00 a.m. on July 12, 2018 at Tallahassee National Cemetery with full military honors.
John was born on November 13, 1936 in Lorain, Ohio to the late Andrew J. Staron and the late Anna Z. Staron. He served his country as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force. He was an administrator at Florida State University for 33 years. He was a active member of Salem United Methodist Church and Havana Kiwanis Club. His hobbies included building, architecture, military history and was a master at crossword puzzles. He was a well-respected and loved member of the Havana community.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Staron, his daughters, Kathleen Golletz and Sara Vivas and their families, Margaret's sons, Andy, Marty and Joe Chilton, sister-in-law Barbara Staron and nephews John, Rob and Mark Staron and their families.
He adored his three granddaughters, Sofia, Sylvana and Emily.
