John Francis Nelson

John Francis Nelson,74 of Coonbottom, Florida, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2025. The family is planning a celebration of his life for a later date. He has requested his ashes to be spread into the Inlet on out going tide, at the Fort Pierce, Florida.

John was born on December 29, 1950, in Fort Pierce He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Josephine Nelson, two sisters, Clara Meier and Carolyn L’Heureux and one brother, Wilson Wetherington. He was married to Nancy McGee Nelson for 34 wonderful years.

John worked for the State of Florida DOT for 38 years. He retired in 2011. He and Nancy moved to Coonbottom, Florida. He loved taking pictures while hunting, fishing, etc. After he retired, he enjoyed sitting on the front porch and watching the deer, turkeys, and other wildlife that would wonder into the front yard.

He was a devoted husband, uncle, and friend to anyone who knew him. He will surely be missed.
