Joan Cable, 91, of Tallahassee, FL. passed away on March 11, 2018 at Harbor Chase assisted living facility. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 14 at Faith Funeral Home in Havana, Florida with her son, Don Cable, officiating the service.

Joan was born September 18, 1926 in Akron, Ohio. She is the daughter of the late Teller and Margaret Williams. She was a homemaker but also learned and practiced cosmetology and worked at the YWCA in her younger years.

She was an amazing cook and baker. Even Southerners were surprised at how this girl from ‘up north’ could make such a fabulous pecan pie. When it came to family time playing cards (especially Euchre) she was hard to beat!

For a little woman she was big in determination, hard work, and care for her family. As a Mom, she had no equal – at least in the eyes of her husband and two sons. She will be deeply missed.

Her survivors include her two sons, Randy G. Cable (wife Kay) and Donald T. Cable (wife Laura) both of Tallahassee. Seven grandchildren: Steffany Lendon, Tonja Francis, Kasey Emerson, Cari Miller, Jessica Poppell, Joshua Cable, and Melinda Cable and nine great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Wesley Cable.
