Jewell Sammons Meeks
Jewell S. Meeks 94 of Havana died Sunday, January 4, 2008 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. Her memorial service will be at 11:00 am, Friday January 9, 2008 at First Presbyterian Church in Havana. Family will receive friends after the service. Pastor Bill Bess officating. Mrs Jewell was born August 7, 1914 in Soperton, GA. She was the youngest of 12 children. She worked and attend Berry College near Atlanta for many years. She was a faithful member of Havana First Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed her flower garden and yard. She was married for 60 years to her late husband until his passing in 2000.
She is survived by her son Philip T. Meeks Jr.(and wife Charelene) of Havana. Three brothers Cooliage, Hough, and Ronald Sammons of Soperton, GA. And two sisters Grace Johnson and Dot Holton of Atlanta. Two grandchildren Philip T. Meeks III (and wife Angie) of Marietta, GA. and Jennifer P. Meeks of Redlands, CA Two great grandchildren Andrew and Alexander Meeks.
She is preceded in death by her husband Philip T. Meeks, Sr.
