Ina Jean Harrison Nelson, 89, of Tallahassee, Florida passed away at TMH on Sunday, February 21, 2021.
Mrs. Nelson was born October 27, 1931 in Whigham, Georgia, to the late Charlie A. Harrison and Lillie Mae Johnson Harrison. After retiring from Western Sizzlin Steak House in Tallahassee she was employed by the Leon County School Board. Mrs. Nelson drove a bus for special needs children where she had a loving bond with the children and their parents.
Survivors include her children: Wanda Metcalf Mills, Dennis Metcalf, Teresa Nelson Martin (Ronnie), Roger Nelson, Stacie Nelson Landrum (Dennis).Grandchildren: Jay Mills, Stephanie Oliger, Heather Tam, Ryan Mills, Crystal Birdsong, Erica Nelson, LaRee Nelson, Tyler Nelson, Paige Hindle, Cory Landrum. Twenty great-grand children and four great-great grand children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Joel Harrison, Wendell O. Harrison, Aaron B. Harrison, and sisters: Alma O. Browning, Sara F. Bookout and granddaughter Melanie C. Mills.
The family wishes to express their love and appreciation to her caregivers, Angelica Webster and Christina Davis.
Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, a private visitation will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, February 26, 2021 at Faith Funeral Home Chapel in Havana, Florida. A graveside service will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery at 11:00 Friday morning, February 26, 2021 , Quincy, Florida. Pastor Dennis Young will officiate.
