Ira Blount Wagner 78, of Tallahassee passed away Saturday, July 18, 2009 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at Christian Heritage Church, 2820 Sharer Road, Tallahassee, FL. Family will receive friends from 1 p. m. to 2 p.m. EDT prior to the service.
Ira was born August 2, 1930 in Chicago, IL. He graduated from the School of Architecture at Washington University at St. Louis. Ira knew he wanted to be an Architect from the time he was eight years old, ending his lifelong career of Architecture, retiring at over 35 years with "The State of Florida Agency for Healthcare Administration "ACHA". Ira was loved by everybody. He was very generous and kind hearted to those in need. He was a committed member and usher at Christian Heritage Church and was awarded the "Distinguished Service Award" in 2007, henceforth to be named after him, "The Annual Ira Wagner Distinguished Service Award". Ira was an avid "movie goer" and in fact was on the board of "Alpha & Omega Entertainment Group, Inc." a film production company.
Ira is survived by his daughters Elizabeth Wagner of Saint Petersburg, FL. and Marcella "Marci" Kmet (and her husband Stan) of Tallahassee; Celeste Keever of Jacksonville, FL. Two granddaughters, Jessica Kennedy of Tampa, FL. and Natalee Kennedy of Tallahassee, FL. A sister Norma R. Wagner and a brother Robert O. Wagner. He was preceded in death by his wife Vicki S. Wagner.
