Herbert Quinsey

Herbert Quinsey , 90, passed away from this earth peacefully as he
headed to his eternal home, on August 25, 2021, at Bertrand Smith
Health Center in Tallahassee, Florida after suffering a stroke earlier in
the month.  Herbert was born in Havana, Florida on February 12, 1931,
to his parents, Robert Theodore Quinsey, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Hartley
Quinsey.
Herbert lived most of his life in Havana, Florida except for the last four
years of his life when he was blessed to move to the Bertrand Smith
Health Center.  There he was given compassion, care and love by his
caretakers that made the last years of his life full of daily excitement
and excursions, new friends and hall patrol reports.
During Herbert’s lifetime, he enjoyed gardening, fishing, playing pool,
going to family cookouts and making people smile.
Besides his parents, Herbert was pre-deceased by all of his siblings and
their spouses R.T. Quinsey, Jr (Juanita), Joseph Quinsey (Ellen), James
Quinsey (Virginia) Phares Quinsey (Jeannie) and Minnie Bell Peavy
(Bob).  He is survived by his nieces and nephews, Jeanette Peavy,
Laverne Barrett (Bill), Nancy Elkins (Byron), Glenda Shepard (Dewayne),
Ann Joyner (Wayne), Sandy Quinsey, Debbie Baxter (Edward), Teresa
Beasley (Tommy), Roger Quinsey (Mary) and many other great nieces
and great nephews.  Herbert was also survived by his special and loving
friends, Butch and Nanci Watkins, Tommy Young and his Caretakers at
Westminster Oaks.
Funeral Services will be held at Faith Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 p.m.,
Sunday, August 29, 2021 with visitation following at 3:00 p.m.  Private
internment will be at Concord Cemetery in “Coonbottom”, Florida.
CDC health safety guidelines will be encouraged including the

wearing of mask indoors for any unvaccinated and vaccinated attendees as they
feel led to insure their safety and comfort, frequent hand sanitizer use
and keeping social distance as often as possible.
