Grace Gay

Grace (Granny) Gay, 91 of Tallahassee FL passed away Wednesday August 31, 2022 at her home after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Grace was born in Tuscaloosa, AL on April 22, 1931. She was the daughter of James Edgar and Rosie Dunn, both who preceded in death. Grace was also preceded in death by her late husband Wallace Gay, Her brothers Troy, Leroy, Cecil, Buddy, Red, Junior Dunn, and sisters Evelyn Shelby, Vina Lou Duncan, Sybil Mitchell, Ruby Nell Brooks and Rosie Lee Burroughs.
In 1955 Grace married Wallace and moved to Florida were she remained the rest of her life. Grace was a devoted wife and mother. Grace’s beautiful life will be forever cherished by her loving and devoted children Kimberly Gay Lingel, Kenneth (Brenda) Gay, Tallahassee FL and Charles (Loyle) Aultman, Northport, AL. Grandchildren Lara Lingel, Chris Gay, Siera Gay, Jordyn Paulk, Crystal Corrie, Doug, Mark, and Michael Aultman. Great- Grand Kids Nakia Johnson, Arabella Johnson, John Carlos and Gabriel Cruz, KJ Corrie, Ellei Mae and Paislei Grace Gay, Kody, Noah, Aaron and Caroline Aultman. Brother Lloyd Dunn of Tuscaloosa, AL and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
We the family would like to extend a special appreciation to her devoted care giver Tamara Davis, Hospice Volunteer Aubrey Swikehardt and Big Bend Hospice.

A visitation will be held at 12:00 noon Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at Faith Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm. and Interment at Tallahassee Memory Gardens.

The Alzheimer's Request

Do not ask me to remember,

don't try to make me understand

Let me rest and know you're with me'

kiss my cheek and hold my hand.

I'm confused beyond your concept,

I'm sad and sick and lost.

All I know is that I need you,

to be with me at all cost.

Do not lose your patience with me,

do not scold or curse or cry,

I can't help the way I'm acting,

I can't be different though I try.

Just remember that I need you,

that the best of me is gone.

Please don't fail to stand beside me,

Love me 'til life is gone.
