George Daniel Toney, Jr "Bo" born on December 7, 1951, in Richmond, Virginia, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2025, in Havana, Florida. He was a devoted family man whose life was a testament to love and dedication to his wife, children, and grandchildren.
In his professional career, Bo served as a heavy equipment operator, demonstrating not only skill but also a commendable work ethic that earned him respect among his peers. His commitment extended far beyond his profession. He proudly served in the United States Air Force and was a Vietnam Veteran.
Bo’s personality was characterized by his warm heart and his ability to connect with others; he never met a stranger and was known as a true people person. He thrived in the company of his loved ones, and his whole life revolved around his family. Bo was a music lover and found delight in Classic Rock and Old Country Music. He often entertained his family and friends by playing his guitar, never failing to bring a smile and a sense of togetherness to the room. His passion for life was evident in the way he expressed love and support to all those around him.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 44 years, Malinda Nunn, who resides in Havana, Florida. His legacy continues through his son, George Daniel Toney III, his daughters: Melissa Ann Hendrix of Havana, FL; Elizabeth Kelly, and her husband Justin of Havana, FL; and Katherine Dixon of Conway, NC also survives him.
Bo cherished his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy: Daniel Lowery, Summer Huffstickler, Kiley Hope, Brooke Hope, Ansley "Gracie" Hope, Eli Toney, Jameson Kelly, and Jeremiah Dixon. His warmth and kindness will surely be remembered and carried forward by them.
Additionally, Bo is survived by two sisters, Sue Robertson and her husband Michael of Midlothian, VA, and Fran Boney, of Wilmington, NC, along with many nieces and nephews, who will miss him dearly.
Bo is preceded in death by his parents, his grandson, Beau Toney, and brother-in-law, John Boney. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
