George Davison Sprague 91 of Taylorsport Kentucky, passed away Friday March 19, 2010 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital in Tallahassee, FL. He leaves behind his wife of 65 years Wanda Fisher Sprague
His funeral service will be held Saturday, March 27 at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home in Hebron, KY. with visitation at 10 AM and his funeral service at 12noon Memorial contributions may be made to Big Bend Hospice 1723 Mahan Center Blvd Tallahassee, FL. 32308
Mr. Sprague was a US Army veteran. He was very proud of his service with the First Armored Division during WWII, and his participation in the North Africa Campaign, and the invasion at Anzio. At the conclusion of the war, George and Wanda married and opened Sprague's Grocery in Taylorsport KY which they operated together for over 30 years. He was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church in Cincinnati OH. and attended The Church of The Brethren in Constance, KY
Other survivers include his son Gary Sprague (and wife Sheila) of Havana, FL. Granddaughter Jennie Barrow (and husband Trace) of Jacksonville, FL. Grandson Geoff Sprague (and wife Kasey of Havana, FL. Great-grandsons Drew and Ben Barrow of Jacksonville, FL and Great-granddaughters Adalynn and Mollie Sprague of Havana, FL.
