Frances Lester Butler, 98 of Havana, FL. passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at her home in Havana.
The graveside funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 4, 2016 at Woodland Cemetery, with Pastor Gary Linton officiating the service. Her family will receive friends on Thursday, November 3, 2016 from 5 until 8 p.m. at Faith Funeral Home in Havana (850-539-4300 or www.faithfuneralhome.com) Memorial donations may be made to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd, Tallahassee, FL 32308.
Mrs. Frances was born on June 3, 1918 in Quincy, Florida the daughter of the late Robert B. Lester, Sr. and the late Myrtle Frances Lester. Mrs. Frances attended Quincy High School. She had many hobbies; gardening, listening to music, dancing and traveling, she also loved to tell a good joke. Mrs. Frances was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Havana.
She is survived by her sister Nina Freeman; daughter Betty B. West (husband Mal); her son Victor Butler (wife Deneece); granddaughter Katie H. Gainey (husband Richard); grandson Beau Butler (wife Sheri) and granddaughter Bliss Garza (husband Jaime); granddaughter in law Wende Hook. Great granddaughters Jocelyn Castillo; Brenda Lynn Bigelow (husband Mike); Sophia Gainey; Mary Frances Gainey; Victoria Gainey; Camryn Hook; Autumn Butler; Sage Butler; Isabella Garza, Ali Hook. great grandson Dalton Butler and Gabriel Garza great-great granddaughters Raelynzie and Abella; great great grandsons Jared, Luther and Kent Bigelow. A sister-in-law Helen Lester and her many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years Cecil Victor Butler, Sr. Her sister Ruby Taylor, her brothers Bob, Warren and Jim Lester. Her step-mother Nina Lester. Her grandson Commander Luther Harold Hook, III and her great-granddaughters Kaitlyn, Rachel, and Mackenzie Hook.
