Eric Onni Lahtinen

Eric Onni Lahtinen age 74 of Havana, Florida passed away on January 5, 2025 surrounded by his loved ones. Eric was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida to Arthur Japhet Lahtinen and mother Lorine Brown Lahtinen. 

After graduating Nova High School, he traveled the US with his band before finally settling in Tallahassee, Florida. Eric married his spouse of 24 years, Betty Mathis Lahtinen on July 22, 2000. Eric was an avid Sportsman and accomplished musician. He retired from Florida State University, where he was the HVAC general manager. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Quincy, Florida. He loved his grandchildren and his cats dearly. 

Eric was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his spouse, Betty Lahtinen, son Matthew Lahtinen and wife Jennifer of Arnold Maryland, daughter Joy Kaphegian and spouse of Jacksonville Florida, daughter Angel Vonada and spouse Wayne of Havana Florida , son Larry Bly and partner Angel Alexander of Orlando Florida, daughter Anna Yawn and spouse John of Tallahassee Florida, grandchildren Logan Lahtinen and Samantha Yawn, brother Alan Lahtinen and sister-in-law Beverly Lahtinen and several nieces and nephews that he cherished, as well as three brother-in-laws including Glen, Timmy and Gary Herrin. 

Eric was a wonderful family man and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
