Emily Lucille Dalton

Emily Lucille Dalton passed away peacefully at her home in Havana, Florida on August 24, 2024. Born Emily Lucille Mills on October 19, 1937 in Jamieson, Florida, she was the first-born child of Eva Colvin Mills and Eskey Mills. 

Lucille graduated from Havana High School class of 1955. She worked as a nurse aid and teacher assistant. As an Army wife, she lived in Ethiopia where she volunteered at the VA Hospital, and in the Panama Canal Zone. She also traveled for fun, visiting Australia, New Zealand, South America, and Alaska to name a few. 

She was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was an amazing cook! No one ever left her home hungry. Holidays were all about family and food. She was known for her large gatherings, especially Thanksgiving. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Eva Mae Colvin Mills and Eskey Mills; her husband Samual A. Dalton; husband/life companion Frank J. Mosley, Jr.; sisters E. Virginia Dalton, Betty Jean Bauldree; grandson Alex Dalton; and, daughter-in-law Sheryl A. Dalton.

She is survived by her five sons, Frank “Joe” Mosley III (Charlotte) of Havana, Florida, Leo Mosley, Sr. of Havana, Florida, Robert Dalton (Maria) of Harrison, Arkansas, Kenneth Dalton of Kennesaw, Georgia, and Edward Dalton (Racheal) of Kennesaw, Georgia; nine grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren plus one due this November; one great-great-grandchild; sister Helen Ulmer of Quincy, Florida; brother James Mills of Quincy, Florida; and, many nieces and nephews. 

The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. and the funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at Faith Funeral Home chapel, Havana, Florida with Pastor Bill Barber of Concordia Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be at Concord Cemetery, Havana, Florida.
