Biography
Elizabeth Weatherly Boutwell of Huntsville, AL. went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 30, 2015, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Elizabeth was born in Havana, FL, May 12, 1939. She graduated from Havana High School in 1957 as salutatorian of her class. In 1961 she graduated from Florida State University with a degree in elementary education. She taught for 30 years at George W. Munroe Elementary School in Quincy, FL. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Havana from childhood throughout her life in Havana. In 2009,
Elizabeth and her husband moved to Huntsville to be near family who could assist as her illness progressed.
She is preceded in death by her husband Dan Boutwell, parents Dee and Pearl Weatherly, and brother Major Emory D. Weatherly, Jr.
She is survived by her son Andy Boutwell (Jennifer), grandchildren Betsi and Mason of Huntsville, and sister Margaret Craig (Larry) of Huntsville.
She is also survived by three nephews: E. Dee Weatherly, III, Stephen Richards, and Seth Richards and two nieces: Cynthia Weatherly Warriner and Elizabeth Weatherly Vaughn, and she leaves behind four great-nephews, three great-nieces, and a host of cousins and friends.
The funeral services will be held Saturday 11:00, December 5, 2015 at the First Baptist Church of Havana, FL. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the church.
Interment will follow at Shelfer Cemetery with Dr. Eric Erskine officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association www.alz.org or First Baptist Church of Havana
