Edwina Faye Hauversburk, 85, of Franklin NC, nurse and author, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2016.

Born in Doerun, GA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Cecil Whittle and Verda Mae Carter Whittle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Hauversburk (February 2014) and two brothers, Winston Cecil Whittle and Quentin Owen Whittle. Edwina was a Registered Nurse at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital (TMH), in the office Crane, Curry, and Knight, as a county public health nurse, and started the outpatient program at TMH, before retiring for health issues. In retirement she enjoyed furthering her education; she graduated summa cum laude from every school she attended. She lived her life in and around Tallahassee and Havana Florida, before Frank retired and they moved to Otto, NC in 1993. There they became active in the community and hosted numerous guests at their mountain home. She loved to write and wrote a book about her brother, Quentin Whittle, "Life and Times of a Lawman". Edwina enjoyed the Senior Games, socializing and card playing with friends, and singing in her church choir.

She is survived by three sons, Daniel Frank Hauversburk (Lelia) of Tallahassee, Jerry Allen Hauversburk of Havana, and Michael Jay Hauversburk (Tracy) of Panama City; one sister, Myra Mae Phillips of Havana; six grandchildren, Brenna Marie Hauversburk, Daniel Frank Hauversburk Jr, Rhett Tucker Hauversburk, Nicholas Allen Hauversburk, Jacob Michael Hauversburk and Jared Owen Hauversburk ; one great grandchild, Blake West, several surviving sisters-in-law including Theis Whittle of Perry, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 28, 2016 in Havana, at Faith Funeral Home Chapel (850-539-4300 or www.faithfuneralhome.com) for both Edwina and Frank.
