Edith Kathryn Whitfield, 88 of Havana, FL. passed way on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at her home, surrounded by her family.
The graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, February 12, 2021 at Tallahassee Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 pm Thursday, February, 11, 2021 at Faith Funeral Home in Havana. Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, those attending are asked to maintain the recommended safe social distancing of six feet and wear protective masks.
Mrs. Whitfield was born on December 29, 1932 in Midway, FL the daughter of the late John Payton and the late Emmie Spooner Payton. She was a member at Havana First Baptist Church, and was a charter member of Thomas Memorial Church in Quincy. She worked at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital as a clerk for 37 years.
She is survived by her children, Her Son- Tim Whitfield (wife Cindy), grands Amber Whitfield ( Fiancé Austin Barrow) and Autumn Whitfield; Her Daughter- Kimberly Conner (husband Mike Carter), grands Ashley King (husband Aron), great-grands; Calyb and Payton Rorie, Emily and Denise King, Michael, Donna, Daniel and Danny Carter; Her Son- Casey Whitfield (wife Theresa), grands James Austin Whitfield, and, Lucas, Sasha, Anna, Chad Stoops. And Daughter- Sharon "Sherri" Hicks, grands Whitley Hicks (wife Susan), Payton, Daughter Katey Hicks (Austin and A.J.) many great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband C.J. Whitfield in 2014. A great grandson Josh Carter, three sisters Vivian, Eunice, Johnny Mae, and one brother Thomas Payton.
