Biography

Dorothy M. Gregory a life-long resident of Havana, FL. Passed away peacefully at her home on December 23, 2009 surrounded by her family. Her Memorial Service will be at 10:00am Thursday, December 24, 2009 at Faith Funeral Home Chapel in Havana.
She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church where she served for many years as the Children's Sunday School Music Director and as the Director of many memorable children's Christmas pageants. Dorothy was a homemaker and enjoyed raising her children. Later she worked at Florida State University and Pioneer Federal Bank in various executive administration positions. Dorothy was a member of The Pilot Club. An accomplished duplicate bridge player, she earned the rank of Life Master from the American Contract Bridge League and continued to play in various bridge groups in Tallahassee until the onset of her latest illness. "Dot" enjoyed sharing time with family and baby sitting her favorite dachshunds, Sam and J.J.
Dorothy was born in Havana, FL. August 20, 1925. The eldest child of Marvin W. and Thelma Long Miller. She is survived by her brothers Bill Miller and Jean, Bob Miller and Jan and Dan Miller and Carol and her sister Margaret Doll all of Havana, FL. She is also survived by her three children daughters Mary G. Jervis and Herb of Amelia Island, FL., Kay G. Weldon of Gulf Breeze, FL. and son "Buck" Gregory and Pat of Guiford, CT. She is survived by her grandchildren Tyler Weldon of Gulf Breeze, Heather Wallis and Jason of Birmingham, AL. Meghan G. Seity and Andy of Cincinnati, OH, Sarah Gregory of Chicago, IL. and two step-grand children Maggie Keating and Stephen Keating of Guilford, Ct. Dorothy is also survived by her great-grand children Kalin and Ian Wallis of Birmingham, AL. and Taylor, Whitney and Jake Weldon of Gulf Breeze, FL. and a host of nieces and nephews.
