Biography

Dorothy Jordan Boynton, 83, of Tallahassee/Havana, FL. passed away Saturday March 15, 2014 at Big Bend Hospice in Tallahassee.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Faith Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Greg Doss officiating, Internment will follow at Shelfer Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 til 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at the funeral home. Faith Funeral Home in Havana is in charge of arrangements (850.539.4300 or www.faithfuneralhome.com)
Mrs. Boynton was born on April 4, 1930 near Tallahassee, the daughter of the late Alry Gunn Jordan, and the late Ettie Gay Jordan. She was a member of Bethel UMC in Tallahassee. She loved the Lord Jesus Christ. She was a true Southern Belle, with a pure heart. That loved all her children, She was known as "Grand-Maw Dot " to her children and grandchildren (Her babies) . She loved her flowers, especially day lilies she cultivated with her husband Jack.
Survivors include her two sons John O. Boynton III (wife Noreen) of Quincy; and James Alry Boynton (wife Marcia) of Havana; two sisters Alva J. Belser of Milton. Harriet Jordan of Tallahassee. Grandsons Robert Clay Boynton (wife Malloree) of Tallahassee; Tye O. Boynton (wife Jillian) of Athens, GA. Jamie M. Boynton and Jeremy M. Boynton both of Tallahassee. Three great-grandchildren, and many other people that loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband John O. "Jack" Boynton in 1994, brother A.G. Jordan IV; and her grand-daughter Kelly Renee Boynton.
