Donald Wayne Britton, 70, of Havana passed away Sunday, March 31, 2013 in Tallahassee. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at Salem United Methodist Church in Havana. Faith Funeral Home is handling arrangements (850.539.4300 or www.faithfuneralhome.com).
A native of Chattanooga, Tennessee, he spent most of his life in Henry, Illinois. He was an Auto Mechanic for over 20 years and a Chemical Operator for B.F. Goodrich for 20 years. When he was 50 years old, he attended Illinois Central College and earned an Associate Degree in Architectural Construction Technology. He then moved to Havana and became an Inspector for the Florida Department of Transportation until his retirement. While growing up, he was a member of Henry United Methodist Church and was currently a member of Salem United Methodist Church. His hobbies included guns, cars, wood carving and reading.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Carolyn Britton of Havana; a son, Ehren Britton of Havana; a brother, Denny Britton (Pat) of Henry, IL; two grandsons, Alex and Ben Britton of Henry; a niece, Cyndy Hough of Englewlood, FL and a nephew, Gregory Britton of Tinley Park, IL.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Thomas Britton and his parents, Francis and Vera Britton.
