Debbie Kay Tanner

February 28, 1958 — October 31, 2021

Havana, Florida

Debbie Tanner, born 2/28/58, deemed the “Queen of Halloween”, by the Tallahassee Democrat for her creation and operation of an annual haunted house “The Terror on 12”, whose proceeds benefited local charities, gave her last scare on 10/31/21.

Debbie lived her life wide open, and cherished her family and friends above all else. She will be remembered for her love for life, her friendship and her generosity that was unsurpassed and seemingly knew no bounds. She could be counted on to provide a cup of coffee, a meal, advice, hugs, shelter, employment, and a swift kick in the backside when needed. Her heart, like her home, was always open and always had room for anyone in need of unconditional love, friendship or support.

She is survived by her husband Sammy Tanner of Havana, FL; daughter Samantha Tanner (Ian) of Quincy, FL; son Jesse Tanner of Havana, FL; stepson Sammy Tanner Jr of Arlington, VA; stepdaughter JoAnn Alford (Stephen) Gainesville, FL; extended family Josh and Amy Barfield of Quincy, FL; grandchildren
Dawson, Dakota, Myles, Chase and Kathryn; sister Darlene Bradshaw of Citrus Springs, FL; nephew Daryl Harmon of Hudson, FL; nieces Dawn Mason and Cerita Roche of Spring Hill, FL, as well as countless friends, all of whom she loved beyond measure.

A celebration of her life will be held at noon on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at the Jackson Masonic Lodge Number 1, 2818 Apalachee Parkway, Tallahassee, Florida. The family requests that all come as you are, as that is how Debbie welcomed everyone into her life.
