Dean Lamar Coxen, 54, of Havana, passed away Friday, May 21, 2010, at Big Bend Hospice House in Tallahassee.
His graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday May 25, 2010, at Shelfer Cemetery in Havana, with Pastor Gordon VanNamee officating. His family will receive friends at his parent's home after the service.
Dean was born May 2, 1956, in Tallahassee, Fl. He was the son of Forrest Richard Coxen and Nancy Coxen. He earned his Eagle Scout Rank as a young man. He was a US Air Force veteran. He loved the outdoors; especially fishing, hunting, boating and sailing. He was a true people person with lots of friends.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Elizabeth "Betsy" Coxen of Havana; his parents F. Richard Coxen and Nancy Coxen of Tallahassee; his son David Coxen; and his daughter Michelle Coxen both of Havana; one brother, Dayle Coxen (wife Susan) of Tallahassee; two sisters, Lyn Baggett (husband Fred) of Tallahassee and Dori Meadow (husband Billy)of Jacksonville, Fl.; and many nieces and nephews.
