Chris Gerald Barber

Christopher (Chris) Gerald Barber was born in Tallahassee, FL on June 9, 2003, and on January 18, 2025, his life came to a tragic end. Chris was full of life, with big dreams to help people. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, cars, guns, music, and reading. He was an avid lover of animals.

He was survived by his Father, Daniel Barber (Jennifer), Brother Jason Barber, Grandmother Connie Hand, Grandparents Edward and Cassie Barber, Aunts and Uncles Liz, Rodney, Kyle, Kaylin, Keith, Kody, and a host of other family and friends. He was survived by his beloved Dog Marlo.

He was currently studying to become an RN at Tallahassee State College. He had dreams of working as a trauma nurse, then eventually becoming a traveling nurse. His love for health care came from working with Southern Medical Group and Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. After doing some travelling as a nurse, he had dreams of going back to school and becoming a Nurse Practitioner, where he eventually wanted to open a clinic for patients who could not afford medical care and medicine.

His family and friends will remember him as curious, funny, loving, and always made an unforgettable impression on anyone who had the pleasure of meeting him. He always wanted to make the world a better place. His brother Jason says, “He has big shoes to fill, as he is taking care of his Chris’s dog Marlo”.

He was preceded in death by Great Grandparents Kenneth C. and Elizabeth (Betty) Johnson and Great Grandparents Marvin and Annette Barber.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Leon County Animal Shelter in Chris’s name. 

Chris's visitation will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Faith Funeral Home Chapel in Havana, Florida.
