Charlotte Evans Mosley

November 7, 1946 — November 10, 2024

Havana

Charlotte Anne (Evans) Mosley, age 78, of Havana passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Dothan, AL on November 7, 1946, she was the daughter of the late James & Edna (Chestnut) Evans. Following graduation at Chiefland High School, she received her LPN from Lively Technical School and then her RN from Chattahoochee Valley State College. Charlotte then embarked on what would be a dedicated 50+ year career across the Big Bend area and South Georgia. Her passion of healing and caring for others led her to serve in many roles and positions within the healthcare system and among them charge nurse, director, in-home nurse and many more. Her most rewarding was, by far, as an ICU nurse. Charlotte was in her early 70’s before finally hanging up her nursing hat when she retired from Gadsden Correctional Facility.

Her “tell it like it was” demeanor was known by all who knew Charlotte whether it you were family, friend, or colleague. Charlotte was, by every definition, a true spitfire of a woman. An avid collector of trinkets and treasures, she also loved to repurpose anything and everything. Things that others had long forgotten became once again admired as they were displayed throughout her home. She was also an incredibly compassionate woman who gave countless feline friends a second chance over the years saving and spoiling them the rest of their lives. Otis Mae, her beloved sidekick survives and terribly misses her already.

Charlotte’s most amazing quality, undeniably, was the fierce love and support she gave to her family as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was promoted to “Grammy” over 30 years ago and it was her favorite title and hat to wear. Grammy Charlotte as she was affectionately called by most everyone in her later years, could always be found in her rocking chair on the porch. She loved nothing more than to be surrounded by “all her babies” and spend time with them.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, Julian “Buddy” Evans and Gene Evans; and in-laws, Frank Mosley and Lucille Dalton.

She will be deeply missed by her devoted husband, Frank Joseph “Joe” Mosley, III of Havana; children, James Leon “Jay” Kinsey, III of Panama City Beach, Laura “Lu” Kinsey of Tallahassee, and Jessica “Jessi” (Mosley) Guinand and husband, Steve, of Havana; grandchildren, Courtney (David) Castleberry of Vinemont, AL, Haileigh Mulford of Tallahassee, Angel (Austin) Caroussos of Crawfordville, Colby Marsh of Havana, and Arianne Kinsey and Riley Kinsey of Tallahassee; great-grandchildren, Cooper, Harper, and Emelia of Vinemont, AL, and Wyatt and Russell of Crawfordville; as well as numerous extended family members.

Charlotte’s wishes were to be cremated and a Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to her favorite cat rescue, “It’s Meow or Never” in her memory at https://www.itsmeowornevertally.com. Faith Funeral Home of Havana is in charge of arrangements.
