Bookie Holland, 73, passed away Thursday, October 18, 2012, at home with his family in Havana, Florida.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 29, 2012 at Faith Funeral Home Chapel. Faith Funeral Home is handling arrangements (850.539.4300 or www.faithfuneralhome.com).
A native of Tallahassee and a graduate of Leon High School; he was a longtime resident of Havana. Bookie enjoyed life to the fullest; was an avid hunter, fisherman, and enjoyed diving local rivers for ancient relics. His hobbies including gardening, creating designer rugs and crafting one of a kind fishing lures.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Allen Holland, three daughters Kymberly Holland Rejda of Gulf Breeze, Florida (and husband Kevin), Adrienne Hinson of Havana (and husband John), and Nicole Holland of Havana; a brother, Curtis R. Holland of Havana (and wife Kay Holland), a sister Sandra H. Hunter of Tallahassee (and husband Fred Hunter); five grandchildren, Bookie Brock Hinson, Matthew Hinson, Elizabeth Hinson, Logan Rejda and Seth Rejda. He was preceded in death by a son, Jerome Roger Holland, II; his father George Cecil Holland; his mother Vera Stephens Holland and a brother Rocky Holland.
