Avril Ann Bass of Havana passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2025 in her home at the age of 92. Born on Feb 21, 1932, she was a native of Mobile, Alabama before moving to Tallahassee and finally Havana, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her father Herman Marston, mother Ethel Mae Chenoweth Marston, brother Sonny Marston, sister Ethel Mae Baptiste all of Mobile Alabama, and her daughter Robin of Tallahassee.
She is survived by her son, David (Casey) of Havana, daughter Janice Jones of Tallahassee and son Mike (Margie) of Lillington, NC. She also has 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Ann attended Covenant of Mercy Academy in Mobile, AL where she graduated. After she moved to Tallahassee, she worked in the Financial Aid office at FSU before moving to the position of Postmaster of the FSU mail office where she retired.
An avid football fan, her roots started as a Bear Bryant loving Alabama Crimson Tide. After moving to Tallahassee, she became a Seminole through and through with a little Crimson and White mixed in. She cheered on the beloved Noles and Crimson Tide through the good times and the bad, along with her favorite drink of Scotch on the Rocks. She also loved her many animals through the years including her horses and Standard Poodles. The only thing she loved more were her many children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was and still is the strong roots of the family tree that has branches of many family members that reach high into the sky and into the heavens. She will truly be missed by all her family and friends, but we have comfort that she is having a great reunion with her mother, father and siblings and her daughter Robin.
